Star Wars Rebels Showrunner Tries To Explain The Whole Midi-Chlorian Thing

StarWarsMidi-Chlorians was another topic that popped up in the prequels but never got explained well. Fortunately, the new writers around Star Wars are trying to clean that up.

“Rebels’ showrunner Dave Filoni, who also served a similar role for Star Wars’ previous TV foray, ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars,’ was present at the Star Wars Celebration in London, and during a media panel, he spoke at length about his interpretation of the definition of midi-chlorians, the fictitious microscopic organisms that live in a person’s bloodstream and dictate how Force-sensitive that person may or may not be. For many fans, this explanation of why The Force is strong with some and not others is seen as a bit “hokey,” but it is canon. Here’s how Filoni sees things:

Game Of Thrones Season 8 – That’s All, Folks!

gameofthronesSo it’s been confirmed that GoT is going to wrap with season 8, but there are already a lot of musings about spinoffs, so don’t be too disappointed.

“In news that is unlikely to surprise any of the Westerosi faithful, it is still with a grim nod that we now know Game of Thrones will meet the Many-Faced God of TV Death in 2018 when its final season airs.

The news was broken by EW when James Hibberd asked Casey Bloys, the new HBO president of programming, about whether Game of Thrones season 8 is definitely the last one at the Television Critics Association’s press tour. Bloys, who just came into the job in May, confirmed what previous HBO executives have always demurred: the current plan is to end Game of Thrones with a shortened eighth season.

Talking about Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, Bloys said, “Yes, they have a very specific plan about the number of seasons they want to do. Believe me, as the new [programming executive] coming in, if I could get them to do more, I would take 10 more seasons. But we take their lead on what they think they can do [as] the best version of the show.”

This news is not necessarily shocking since Benioff and Weiss have repeatedly made it clear that they are planning, as of now, to do only 13 more episodes after season 6: seven episodes in summer 2017 and another six for season 8 in 2018. With any luck, they might even realize they need an extra hour or two for the final season and it gets pushed up to seven or eight hours, but as of right now, even that is looking dubious.”

nomansskyThe footage is being taken down as fast as its going up but the story is kind of interesting. Here’s The Trailer For The 1977 Animated Cult Classic ‘Wizards’

wizardsAnd here’s where it gets interesting – for us at least. Because Wizards is being listed here as a cult classic (official description below) but we’ve… never heard of it. That’s right – we’re admitting it. No one here has ever heard of this film. Are you familiar with it? Did you see it in the theaters back in the day?

“Wizards is a 1977 American animated post-apocalyptic science fantasy film about the battle between two wizards, one representing the forces of magic and one representing the forces of industrial technology. It was written, produced, and directed by Ralph Bakshi. This is 20th Century Fox’s first animated film.

Wizards is notable for being the first fantasy film made by Bakshi, who was previously known only for urban films such as Fritz the Cat, Heavy Traffic, and Coonskin. It grossed $9 million theatrically from a $1.2 million budget, and has since become a cult classic. The film was rated PG by the MPAA.

20th Century Fox has announced a special edition Blu-ray of the film will be released on March 13, 2012, to commemorate the film’s 35th anniversary. The disc include the special features from the DVD, but will also include a 24-page book including rare artwork from the film and an introduction from Bakshi.”

Addendum: forgot to add that you can find the whole movie on YouTube.

One Punch Man Season 2 Spoilers

onepunchman“The long-awaited “One Punch Man” season 2 may see titular hero Saitama facing off against three new baddies. According to reports, these three villains are Garou, Amai Mask, and Lord Boros. Saitama defeated Lord Boros in the massively popular anime’s season 1 finale, but rumors have it that the leader of the Dark Matter Thieves will be back to exact his revenge. Amai Mask, the top-ranked A-Class hero, may also be brought back. In episode 12 of “One Punch Man,” Amai Mask, who is also a singer and actor, almost started a fight with the S-Class heroes, whose failures he had mocked. The outlet suggests that Amai Mask may reappear after witnessing Saitama fail to use his full power against Lord Boros in the season 1 finale. Saitama’s third possible enemy, Garou, was trained by Silver Fang and is said to be the strongest enemy the hero will face.”

No info on when season 2 is going to drop, unfortunately. We’ll keep you posted!
