HBO Ready For Game Of Thrones Spinoff

gameofthronesbigGood news for the GoT fans out there – and coupled with the fact that Martin has admitted he has like, a zillion more pages of material, we can certainly expect something cool (well, hopefully) down the road. “We’ve got just two seasons left of Game of Thrones, with the eighth and final season set to air in 2018. But don’t assume that’ll be the last we see of Westeros. The network has previously floated the possibility of a Game of Thronesspinoff, and HBO programming president Casey Bloys says the idea is still under consideration. It’s just about finding the “right take.”

Game of Thrones has been a massive success for HBO on just about every level. It’s been showered in critical acclaim and permeated popular culture. Ratings have increased each season, peaking with the most recent finale. And just a few weeks ago it set the all-time record for most Emmy wins of any scripted series. In short, it’s no wonder HBO wants to keep the Game of Thrones franchise going as long as possible.”

battlefleetgothic“Battlefleet Gothic: Armada today unleashes its Tau Empire DLC with an explosive trailer!

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, the RTS videogame adaptation of Games Workshop’s classic tabletop game by Tindalos Interactive studio today releases a new faction – the Tau Empire – along with an explosive trailer. The Tau are playable in the multiplayer modes of Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, as well as in Skirmish mode against the AI.

The alien Tau Empire has rapidly expanded across the galaxy, aided by highly advanced technology and a total dedication to the Greater Good philosophy. Their fleets excel at long range, with powerful weapons dealing massive amounts of damage from afar. Skilled Tau admirals can eliminate the bulk of an enemy fleet before they can even get within boarding distance. The Tau have access to a wide array of upgrades and traits to improve their fleet even further.

SlashFilm Reviews Black Magic Film ‘A Dark Song’

adarksong“If your average horror movie is an indication, the occult is a piece of cake. Grab a dusty old tome from your local library, pick up a Ouija board, light a candle or two and voila! You’re ready to open a portal, summon a demon, or cleanse a house of a vengeful spirit. Genre movies have a habit of making magic look easy and convenient. Either anyone can do it, or an exposition-spouting expert is just a quick phone call away.

A Dark Song isn’t that kind of movie. Writer/director Liam Gavin has made a movie where black magic isn’t just dangerous and a good way endanger your soul – it’s also really, really difficult and it takes a long time. Here is a movie about a single dark ritual that takes place over the course of six months.”

Had to agree with the Slashfilm review here. Most horror films with black magic really ARE more like ‘Occult Delivery’ – dial the phone and you get a tome or witch or voodoo priestess in 30 minutes or less. This film really brings home the fact that there’s a tremendous amount of preparation involved, it’s very difficult, and incredibly dangerous. And it will be the beginning of your eternal problems.

All that said, read the rest of the Slashfilm review here. It’s really good and combined with the trailer, made us want to see this film. Trailer below. Enjoy!
