This choice actually makes a lot of sense if you think about it. She looks the role. H/t to for the news!

Nicole Kidman is reportedly in talks to join Warner Bros. Aquaman movie in the role of Arthur Curry’s mother. Kidman is currently in the Academy Awards race for her work on Lion.

The news immediately follows the announcement that Yahya Adul-Mateen II will be playing Aquaman’s villain, Black Manta.

Kidman is a critically-acclaimed actress who has won numerous “Best Actress” awards, including an Oscar in 2002. This won’t be Kidman’s first brush with the DC Comics Universe. Kidman played Dr. Chase Meridian in 1995’s Batman Forever.

Beauty and the Beast – US Official Final Trailer

The Guardian

“Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within. The film stars: Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Oscar® winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s eccentric, but lovable father; Josh Gad as Lefou, Gaston’s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Golden Globe® nominee Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Oscar nominee Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and two-time Academy Award® winner Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.”

Tom Hardy Still Doing Splinter Cell Film

This Gen Gaming

Can this videogame-to-movie idea work? “Nothing has been heard of the project for a while, but now, thanks to Collider, we have a bit of news. The folks there have been chatting to producer Basil Iwanyk, who’s promoting John Wick: Chapter 2, but also overseeing Ghost Recon. And he’s confirmed that progress has been made.

“We’ve got a script”, he confirmed. “It’s a little long, but it’s the best script we’ve had. Now that I’m back from Mexico City, we’re going in there to figure out how to cut some pages and give it to [Tom] Hardy”.”

Bokeh Trailer (2017) Sci-Fi Movie

Bokeh Kickstarter/Andrew Sullivan

Bokeh is a Kickstarter that capitalizes on the recent trend of putting a simple, minimalist sf/fantasy/horror story with less than a handful of actors against beautiful scenery for maximum effect. “On a romantic getaway to Iceland, a young American couple wake up one morning to discover everyone on earth has disappeared. Their struggle to survive and to reconcile the mysterious event lead them to reconsider everything they know about themselves and the world.” I really like this kind of film because it always makes you think, What would you do? Affleck Bailing On Batman

Breaking news! “Ben Affleck has decided to step down as director of “The Batman” and remain on as a producer and star of the project.

Affleck is still on board to play the superhero, but sources close to the talent said Affleck and Warner Bros., after discussing how to best make the film possible, came to the decision together.

“There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions,” Affleck said in a statement. “Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”

Affleck and Warner Bros. will now begin searching for a new director. Sources say there is a shortlist and that “War for the Planet of the Apes” helmer Matt Reeves is among those on the list.””

Hyperloop Off To A Hyperlooping Start

Remember when you were a kid and you used to put pennies on the track and scream like banshees when the train rolled over them? Imagine doing that with this thing…

“Elon Musk’s dream for a high speed travel system that uses pneumatic tubes has taken a major step towards reality. Three teams of students have tested their half scale pod designs in a specially built 1 km long SpaceX test track – with Delft University taking first prize over MIT and WARR. The Hyperloop is a ground transport concept proposed by Musk in 2013 to transport ‘pods’ of 20-to-30 people through a 12-foot diameter tube at roughly 700 mph.”
