Check Out This My Annabelle Creation Film Contest Winner – ‘The Nurse’

This is a short (two minutes!), predictable film but it’s an indication of possibly more films to come in The Conjuring universe – and horror/Conjuring fans should like this one.

Via Slashfilm:

Warner Bros.’ The Conjuring Cinematic Universe grew larger this month with the release of director David F. Sandberg‘s spin-off prequel Annabelle: CreationSandberg got his start making a short film called Lights Out that he then went on to adapt as a feature. Recently, he and Warner Bros. created a similar opportunity for up-and-coming filmmakers to get their names out there by holding a short film contest for stories that would fit well into the world of The Conjuring films.

The United States winner has been announced (other countries’ winners will be announced soon), and it’s a short called The Nurse from director Julian Terry.

Terry says, “A fun short I made for the My Annabelle Creation Contest! Everyone did an amazing job on it! Together we were able to get this done in less than 4 days.” Check out the film via the link below. More on the making of the film here

Toyota Is Working On A Star-Trek Style Cloaking Device For Cars

New York Post

Ha! Let’s see the police bust me for speeding now!

Via New York Post:

Did Toyota hire any aliens recently?

Strong evidence supporting that ridiculous notion comes in the form of a patent application the automaker has filed for a “cloaking device” — the term being a tip of the hat to a technology featured in “Star Trek” on Romulan and Klingon starships.

Although it’s not intended to make an entire car disappear, the patent describes a system that would render the roof pillars of a car virtually invisible, providing an unobstructed 360-degree view for the driver.

The idea is to wrap a pillar in a series of mirrored and opaque surfaces that directs the light around it, resolving with a clear image that the occupants of the vehicle can see.
