New Alien: Covenant Facehugger Clip

scified.com

scified.com

Great short clip with an interesting – and not exactly typical –  facehugger encounter. This is another in a growing list of trailers and clips that make us think this movie is going to be fantastic. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape. Video at the link below.

Alien: Covenant ‘MUTHUR’ Short Trailer

justjared.com

This is a great short clip (except for the odd background music) that gives us a lot of insight into the Uber-Siri/Alexa otherwise known as MUHUR – and Daniels’ interaction with her. Note how Alien:Covenant trailers continually introduce you to more characters in-depth while setting you up for the psychological cold-bucket-of-water of their demise. Trailer at the link below.

Reactions To The Recent Alien: Covenant Screening

scified.com

scified.com

We always take these things with a grain of salt considering the number of movies that failed last summer after screeners and critics fell slobbering over themselves in an attempt to outdo each other for the best praise of a film. It seems to be common practice by the film community. That being said, even a stopped clock is right twice a day. The reviewers are saying that this Alien film is

  1. Gory
  2. Scary
  3. Deserving of an R rating
  4. Back to the roots of the first Alien – a horror film set in space…  But not all said they liked it – though they also didn’t say they didn’t like it.

Are you excited for this film? We’re mixed over here. Prometheus was a messy letdown that could have been vastly improved with better editing instead of turning to gore. Alien and Aliens were trendsetters. Alien 3 was passable. Alien 4 was horrible. The Alien novels have been pretty good and the comics seem to do well. The Predator/Alien thing has been all over the place. Not to rain on the upcoming Alien parade, but we REALLY want a good Alien film because overall we’re big fans of the franchise and are tired of mediocre/bad films being thrown at us. Meanwhile, have a look at the Twitter reviews at CinemaBlend here.
