Temeura Morrison May Appear In Aquaman

IMDb

And if he does, he’ll be Aquaman’s human father. Oh – and he’ll be married to Nicole Kidman, or Aquaman’s mother. Previous roles for Morrison were as Jango Fett in Star Wars Episode II and Commander Cody in Episode III. On top of that, he’s been the voice for Star Wars: Empire At War and Star Wars: Bounty Hunter, Chief Tui in Moana as well as a host of science fiction film acting gigs.

Nicole Kidman Joining Aquaman?

DC Comics

DC Comics

This choice actually makes a lot of sense if you think about it. She looks the role. H/t to ComicBook.com for the news!

Nicole Kidman is reportedly in talks to join Warner Bros. Aquaman movie in the role of Arthur Curry’s mother. Kidman is currently in the Academy Awards race for her work on Lion.

The news immediately follows the announcement that Yahya Adul-Mateen II will be playing Aquaman’s villain, Black Manta.

Kidman is a critically-acclaimed actress who has won numerous “Best Actress” awards, including an Oscar in 2002. This won’t be Kidman’s first brush with the DC Comics Universe. Kidman played Dr. Chase Meridian in 1995’s Batman Forever.

Aquaman is the next DC Comics movie on the Warner Bros. production schedule. Filming is expected to begin in April 2017.”

Today Is Aquaman’s Birthday!

DC Comics

DC Comics

He was born in 1941, making him 76 today. “According to the DC Comics Calendar (from 1976), today, January 29th, is the birthday of Arthur Curry, aka the DC Comics’ superhero Aquaman. First appearing in More Fun Comics #73 in November 1941, Aquaman has solidified himself as a cornerstone of the DC Universe. He is a husband, father, a founding member of the Justice League, and the king of Atlantis. Despite becoming the butt of many superhero-related jokes, especially during the more extreme 90’s and grittier 2000’s, Aquaman has recently come back to the forefront of the DC Universe. One of the few characters to benefit from DC Comics’ New 52 launch under the pen of Geoff Johns, Aquaman was rebooted as a self-aware hero, who overcame all of the jokes thrown his way by showing off his capabilities as a hero and a leader. Now, Jason Momoa is set to play the character in a Justice League movie later this year, as well as star in his own feature length movie set for release in 2018.” Read more on Aquaman’s birthday and history here…

And The Next Villain In The New Aquaman Is…

DC Comics

DC Comics

“After Arthur Curry teams up with his fellow DC superheroes in Justice League, he’s going to have a lot to deal with in his solo movie. Earlier this year, it was reported that Aquaman will feature multiple villains, one of which will be Black Manta. Now the second antagonist has not only been revealed, but also cast, as Watchmen actor Patrick Wilson has been tapped to play Orm, better known in the comics as Ocean Master.” We were just speculating in Sci-Clops podcast 12 whether Black Manta or someone else would appear. While there had been talk about Black Manta earlier, Aquaman has had a tough time even getting to this point so as far as we were concerned, all bets on earlier news were off. Read more on the villain casting here

Willem Dafoe Confirms Vulko Role For Aquaman

DC Comics

DC Comics

Just a quick note to let you know Willem Dafoe will be appearing in the upcoming Aquaman movie with this particular character. “While he was da foe of Peter Parker in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films, when Willem Dafoe joined the cast of Justice League, his role was, at first, kept a mystery. We later learned over the summer that he’d be playing Nuidis Vulko, one of the Aquaman comics’ mainstays, and now Dafoe has confirmed it himself, with a few interesting facts about his involvement in the Aquaman and Justice League movies.” Read more on this character appearance here
