Godzilla 2 Has Found A Director

godzilla2-movie.com

And it’s Michael Dougherty. Just a quick note to keep you posted – “After first being hired to run the “Godzilla” universe writing room, “Krampus” director Michael Dougherty has now been tapped to direct the next installment in the monster movie franchise as well.

When news first broke that Dougherty and his “Krampus” co-writer Zach Shields would be penning the sequel, reports surfaced that Dougherty would also helm the pic, but insiders said then that the deal was only to write the sequel, not direct. After months of work in the writers room, Legendary eventually extended an offer for him to direct as well.”

Gareth Edwards Bails On Godzilla 2

godzillaWe absolutely saw this coming as soon as we announced that Godzilla had been kicked back another year.(Have a look at the related stories below this article.) “It’s been confirmed that Gareth Edwards will no longer be directing Godzilla 2, according toDeadline. The site states that the split with Legendary Entertainment was an amicable one.

Edwards has just got off directing Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and apparently has his own project that he wants to pursue, which is on a much smaller scale than the likes of both Godzilla and Star Wars. Currently, no director has taken his place but we’ll be keeping our eyes and ears open for any news.”

Godzilla 2 Kicked To March 2019

godzillaWelp, so much for that. Word is that it was up against a lot of summer competition, in particular the Transformers flick. We’re wondering if a movie is kicked that far down the road if it even stands a chance of hitting the theater or is it relegated to direct-to-video status. That being said, the Godzilla vs. Kong flick now has a date of 2020. What we think is going on is that the studios are waiting to see how Kong: Skull Island does. Scified seems to think the same thing. There are more details and a picture or two here

Kong: Skull Island Tied Into Godzilla (2014)

kongA new interview with Kong: Skull Island’s lead actor, Tom Hiddleston has revealed that the messages and undertones present in Skull Island will echo very strongly with the messages and themes present throughout Gareth Edwards’ Godzilla (2014). We already know Skull Island will take place in the same cinematic universe as Godzilla which eventually leads to their epic clash in 2020, but it seems the story-line for King Kong itself is completely new and Kong himself will act as somewhat of a blood-relative to Godzilla. Instead of King Kong being a new wonder of the world – he will act like an unstoppable force of nature, much like Godzilla did in Legendary’s adaptation.
