‘Passengers’ Sci-Fi Flick Stuck In Legal Mess

This is Jennifer Lawrence’s movie about “a spacecraft traveling to a distant colony planet and transporting thousands of people [that] has a malfunction in its sleep chambers. As a result, two passengers are awakened 60 years early.””

There’s already $120 million tied up in the film but it’s come to a halt due to legal issues swirling around Digital Domain (DD3). “On June 17, a federal judge issued a preliminary injunction freezing a sophisticated motion capture technology called MOVA, of which DD3 is the exclusive licensee, from being used by movie studios and by DD3 itself. U.K. firm Moving Picture Company (MPC) is providing the VFX work on Passengers, while DD3 provided motion capture work.”

The film sounds interesting, moreso because it’s not another reboot or sequel. You can find more on the Passengers legal woes here

Dazzler In X-Men Apocalypse – Will She Or Won’t She? And Just WHO Is Playing Her?

xmenWhen you read the article, it’s clear they’re doing a lot of dancing around on whether she’ll be in it or not. But in other places, the rumor is that Taylor Swift might make a cameo as this character. It makes sense. Put Swift in there and WHAM! You’ve got a whole lot more viewers than you would have – and you’ll have a lot. Even if she’s there for a few moments. It makes sense – Swift is a big singer – the biggest in her genre – and she’d fit right in. We just can’t imagine how much she’d charge for a cameo. Let us know what you think after reading the article here
