Pacific Rim 2 Shooting Has Begun

screenrant.com

screenrant.com

“Pacific Rim‘s middling box office performance meant a sequel was never a sure thing, and for months things went back and forth. First it had a release date, and then it didn’t. Guillermo del Toro dropped out as director, but stayed on as producer and hired Daredevil‘s Steven S. DeKnight to helm. As of this year the project was officially back on, and now production is underway in Australia.

When Pacific Rim 2 charges in to re-cancel the apocalypse, though, it’ll be doing it under a slightly different title. Star John Boyega has shared the new official name of the movie. If you’ve been following this project for a while now, here’s a hint: you’re probably not going to be terribly surprised.” Click here to see the title (brought to you by John Boyega) and more info with images on the upcoming movie.

Casey Affleck Will Star In SF Flick ‘Villain’

villainVillain follows an average man (played by Affleck) who loses everything after a home invasion gone wrong robs him of his family and sends him to the hospital with two bullets lodged deep inside his brain. After he recovers, he develops the ability to see into people’s past, present, and future, and sets out to find the men who killed his family with his newfound gift. While searching for his family’s murderers, he becomes determined to “clean up the streets” and takes on the role of a vigilante who punishes the criminals just out of reach of the law. With great power comes great responsibility, however, and Affleck has lost sight of that. His vigilante acts become more frequent and more brutal until he begins to be viewed by the city he set out to protect as the stuff of nightmares.”

Here’s A Documentary About The Phantasm Movies

phantasmThe TALL MAN. Just in time for Halloween! A great hour and a half – plus documentary on the Phantasm movies. If you haven’t seen these yet, by all means, add them to your viewing repertoire. Phantasm is a cool mix of SF/Horror that has built up a solid cult following. This is probably because of the genre mix and the fact that a lot more movies could be made on the Phantasm storyline. The video is a great review of the cast – with interviews, the directors, how some of the ideas in the movie came to be, special effects, and a lot more. Video below – enjoy!

Sci-Fi Addicts (And The Rest Of Us) Asks: Can X-Files Season 11 Redeem Itself?

x-filesThis is a good, long article on whether the X-Files can pull it back together after the last season, which had some good moments, but from what we saw, didn’t have anything that left the viewer wowed. That was what X-Files was great for – the kind of feeling you have after watching an episode of Stranger Things – “What Will They Come Up With Next?” True to the article, we here are forgiving X-Files fans and would like to see more so we’ll wait for the (supposed?) new season and see what happens.

“Mulder and Scully’s first TV run may have gone off the rails before it ended after nine seasons, but countless people still had a special place for the show in their heart. These fans are also incredibly forgiving: the 2008 standalone film, I Want To Believe, was a major disappointment to most of us, but interest still remained despite such a huge misfire.
