Why Wonder Woman’s Olympian Gods Are Important For The DCEU’s Future

Great article which makes you think that perhaps we’ll see some of Wonder Woman’s gods appearing later on in movies.

Via Cinemablend:

Many of DC Comics’ superheroes have been thought of as “gods” walking among humans, and it’s a fitting analogy. But there are also true gods in the DC universe, and at the beginning of this month, Wonder Woman revealed that the deities from Greek mythology once existed in the DC Extended Universe. Zeus created humanity in the image of the Olympian titans, and for millennia they lived in peace among us. Unfortunately, all of them were killed by Ares during the War of the Gods, leaving only the Themyscirans to know about the threat Zeus’ treacherous son posed. Millenia later, Wonder Woman killed Ares, leaving her as the only Olympian left thanks to her demigod status.

Unless Wonder Woman 2 somehow brings the Olympian Gods back to life, it’s doubtful we’ll ever see them in the modern day DCEU. However, they still hold tremendous importance for the DCEU, both through a potential appearance in the new future and how they connect to other mighty beings from the DC pantheon. Let’s begin by looking ahead at Justice League, which is five months away and arguably the biggest movie of this franchise yet. Read more here

Artemis Will Appear In Wonder Woman

gamespot.com

In an interesting casting choice, Artemis will be played by boxer Ann Wolfe. h/t to ScienceFiction.com for the info. “[…] it has been confirmed by director Patty Jenkins that Wolfe is indeed in the movie and she has a fan-favorite role, that of Artemis.  In the comics, Artemis is a member of the Bana-Mighdall tribe, an offshoot of the Amazons who chose not to live on Themyscira but rather chose to roam the world of man, sometime selling their skills  to the highest bidder.  Artemis is notorious for replacing Diana as Wonder Woman for a storyline during the 1990s, but she proved popular enough that creators kept her around as a supporting character after Diana reclaimed the title.  Artemis was created by writer William Messner-Loebs and artist Mike Deodato.” Wonder Woman trailer and more at the link below.

UN PC Police Kick Wonder Woman To The Curb

Wonder Woman

www.gamespresso.com

Molehills into mountains. Someone at the UN has too much free time on their hands. “Wonder Woman was supposed to be designated as an honorary United Nations ambasaador to kick off a year-long, UN worldwide campaign for gender equality with the Amazon heroine as its champion. Back in October, a special ceremony in NYC was held to celebrate the occasion, with director Patty Jenkins, Gal Gadot, Lynda Carter, and DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson in attendance, but a petition was quickly spread, opposing Wonder Woman’ selection as the representative for the campaign. A segment of the petition says, “Although the original creators may have intended Wonder Woman to represent a strong and independent ‘warrior’ woman with a feminist message, the reality is that the character’s current iteration is that of a large breasted, white woman of impossible proportions.”

It looks like their argument won as Wonder Woman’s time as an ambassador will be cancelled this Friday, whereas it was originally set to last in 2017.

But it seems the battle is not over. There’s a counter-petition to re-instate Wonder Woman’s honorary abassador status.”

Sam Ibrahim Drops A Wonder Woman Trailer… With Led Zeppelin Theme Music

Wonder Woman

This totally works! Great job, Sam!

“Howdy everyone. I’m quite excited to bring you a new trailer. I call it ‘Ultimate’ because its cut together using both trailers that have been released thus far; whilst putting my own spin on it using one of my favourite tracks by the Legendary Led Zeppelin (Stairway to Heaven).

The lyrics along side Diana, as well as the rock feeling of her theme music, it made a lot of sense to me. I’m so excited for Wonder Woman, it looks like an incredible film. There’s been a lot of iterations of different DC heroes in film over the years and finally WW is getting her long awaited and rightly deserved solo film. Again this is my tribute to this beloved character.”

Video below – enjoy!
