ScreenGeek

Zombie flicks can be a real toss-up but sometimes you get one that looks pretty good. This Day of the Dead: Bloodline trailer is seems like it may hold up to even hardcore zombie fans. Super violent, lots of suspense, TONS of gore and a really nasty ending shot that you won’t want to see if you’re eating. Oh, and these are fast-moving zombies too, for whatever it’s worth. Have a look at the trailer below and see if you agree that this one may be a good one to see in the theaters.

George A. Romero, Father Of The Zombie Film, Dies At 77

The Hollywood Reporter

A truly sad day that one of the legends of horror film has passed!

Via Hollywood Reporter:

His low-budget body of work, which included ‘Night of the Living Dead’ and ‘Dawn of the Dead,’ creeped out audiences for decades.

George A. Romero, the legendary writer-director from Pittsburgh who made the 1968 cult classic Night of the Living Dead for $114,000, thus spawning an unrelenting parade of zombie movies and TV shows, has died. He was 77.

Romero, who put out five other zombie movies after a copyright blunder cost him millions of dollars in profits on his wildly popular first one, died Sunday in his sleep after a battle with lung cancer,  his producing partner, Peter Grunwald, told the Los Angeles Times. Romero’s family confirmed his death to the newspaper as well.

Romero’s 1978 sequel Dawn of the Dead was made for $1.5 million and grossed $55 million. He followed that by writing and directing Day of the Dead (1985), Land of the Dead (2005), Diary of the Dead (2007) and Survival of the Dead (2009), a decomposing body of work that earned him the nickname Father of the Zombie Film.

Don’t Breathe’s Jane Levy Joins Amazon Zombie TV Pilot Sea Oak

TVShow.me

Zombies are still hot and zombie horror comedy is the latest hot spinoff. Here’s a new show coming from Amazon. Glenn Close will also star (see thumbnail).

Via Screenrant:

Don’t Breathe and Evil Dead lead Jane Levy is staying in the horror genre by joining the cast of Amazon’s half-hour zombie comedy pilot, Sea Oak. Levy must truly enjoy horror because she also just signed on to appear in Hulu’s Stephen King-inspired, J.J. Abrams-produced series, Castle Rock.

In Sea Oak, award-winning actress Glenn Close plays a timid, childless spinster who dies in a home invasion but comes back to life as a rage-filled zombie who terrorizes her nephew and nieces as she attempts to live the life she missed out on the first time around. Close recently battled the undead in the well-reviewed indie film The Girl With All the Gifts, but this time she gets to join the ranks of the zombies.

Watch A Totally Different Take On Zombies Courtesy Of The Aussies And ‘Glitch’

http://www.sci-clops.com/krock-zombie-ball-syracuse-ny/ 2016
Sci-Clops LLC

An interesting change of pace on the hottest trend in horror. “Check your metabolic privilege, breather. Not all zombies are desiccated, intestine-dragging, brain-eating ragamuffins. In French television’s 2012 Les Revenants and the 2015 A&E remake The Returned, reanimated corpses on missions of reconciliation and revenge were cute as bugs and no meaner than your average reality-show contestant. And the most-bootlegged unsuccessful pilot in Hollywood history was for a proposed 2007 CBS series called Babylon Fields, starring Amber Tamblyn, in which the zombies were presented as the next stage of human evolution, complete with undead super-libidos.

Joining the zombies-are-people-too club is Glitch, an oddly engaging little show from Australian television now streaming on Netflix. Though its opening scene—naked corpses (Aussies apparently prefer their interments commando-style) clawing their way out of a rural graveyard under a full moon—gives every indication of being yet another homage to/ripoff of George Romero, all bets are off the rest of the way.”
